DataGuard via Driver Communication

Use this page when a decoded value from an enabled Driver Communication profile must be logged in DataGuard or exported onward to Emiko.

Configure the driver profile first. The profile must have the correct model, communication path, address, slot, and enable setting before DataGuard can use values from that profile.

Use DataGuard via Analog Inputs when the value comes from a physical analog input. Use DataGuard via 1-Wire when the value comes from a 1-Wire channel.

Complete Setup Workflow

When DataGuard is Needed

Activation Rules

A DataGuard driver row is active only when the same profile index has a valid equipment type, data type or package selector, log mode, and enabled driver profile.

Data Types and Driver Selectors

DEVDATATYPE# can select either a single data type or one supported driver selector.

Product Paths That Use Driver DataGuard

Use the product page first when a driver value belongs to a product-specific setup. Use this page for the shared driver DataGuard reporting parameters.

Product path Driver source DataGuard values Product setup
WeatherStation Thies Hydro Termo Baro profile. DEVEQT#=23 and DEVDATATYPE#=8000 for the QC, temperature, pressure, and humidity package. Single values use 1101, 1102, or 1103. WeatherStation Thies package
OceanWatcher Supported Siemens LR110/LR120 radar profile. DEVEQT#=20 and DEVDATATYPE#=9007 for the water-level package. Use 1201 only for direct primary-value reporting where documented. OceanWatcher DataGuard setup
Energy or power measurement Supported EM driver profile. DEVDATATYPE#=8001 sends QC as DTY 1300 first, then voltage child values as DTY 1301. This page

DataGuard Reporting Parameters

Configure these parameters after the driver profile is enabled and reading fresh values.

Equipment Type

Select which Emiko equipment type the decoded driver value is reported under.

Parameter Index Range Format Default Example
DEVEQT# 1..24 0..35

0 = None (disabled)

1..35 = EQT value for the equipment in Emiko

Defined EQT IDs in this software:
1 = MarinePro (MAP)
2 = EnergyLogger (ENL)

Data Type or Package Selector

Select the DataGuard data type or supported driver value package to send.

Parameter Index Range Format Default Example
DEVDATATYPE# 1..24 Direct DTY below 8000 + supported driver selectors

0 = None (disabled)

1..7999 = direct data type (DTY) accepted by the parser. Use documented child DTY values from Shared Runtime Data Type Reference.

Supported driver selectors are setup values; they send one or more child DTY values and are not themselves sent as the measurement DTY.

Supported driver package selectors 8000 = climate/weather temperature, pressure, and humidity package
8001 = EM voltage package
9007 = water-level package from supported radar measured distance

Note: Current driver single-value setup is supported for Thies values 1101, 1102, 1103, and CS/LR110 water level 1201. For LR110/LR120 water-level calculation, 9007 uses the measured radar distance; 1201 sends the CS primary value directly.

For the 9007 water-level package, DEVSLOT# selects the driver source slot and the reported SLE value. OWAWLREF#/OWAWLDKLAT# follows first/second active 9007 water-level source order.

Log Mode

Select whether the decoded driver value is sent periodically to DataGuard in the current supported driver path.

Parameter Index Range Format Default Example
DEVLOGDATA# 1..24 0..4

0 = None (disabled)

1 = Periodic driver export

2 = Reserved for later driver threshold support

3 = Reserved for later driver event support

4 = Reserved for later driver hybrid support

0 DEVLOGDATA1 1

Log Interval

Use this parameter with DEVLOGDATA# 1 to set the periodic driver export interval.

Parameter Index Range Format Default Example
DEVLOGDATAINT# 1..24 0..31

0 = Disabled

10 = Every minute
11 = Every 2 minutes
12 = Every 5 minutes
13 = Every 10 minutes
14 = Every 15 minutes
15 = Every 20 minutes
16 = Every 30 minutes

17 = Every hour
18 = Every 2 hours
19 = Every 4 hours
20 = Every 6 hours
21 = Every 8 hours
22 = Every 12 hours

23 = Every day
24 = Every 2 days
25 = Every 3 days
26 = Every week
27 = Every 2 weeks
28 = Every month
29 = Every quarter
30 = Every half year
31 = Every year

Hysteresis

This parameter is reserved for later DataGuard driver threshold or hybrid logging. It is not an active trigger for the current supported driver path.

Parameter Index Range Format Default Example
DEVLOGDATAHYS# 1..24 0..32767

0 = No threshold value

1..32767 = Reserved threshold or hysteresis value for later DataGuard driver support

Note: Current DataGuard driver value logging does not use this value as an active trigger.

Supported Driver Selectors

The current Driver Communication setup supports these DataGuard driver selectors. When a package includes QC, the QC child value is sent first.

Selector Driver profile Values sent Use
8000 Thies Hydro Termo Baro driver profile QC as DTY 1129, temperature as DTY 1101, pressure as DTY 1102, and humidity as DTY 1103 Weather or climate values from one supported sensor profile.
8001 EM driver profile QC as DTY 1300, followed by three phase-to-neutral voltage values as DTY 1301 Voltage values from one supported energy-meter profile.
9007 Supported Siemens LR110/LR120 radar profile OK/suspect: DTY 1220, DTY 1201, DTY 1221, and DTY 1222. Fatal states: DTY 1220 only. Water-level calculation from measured radar distance.

DataGuard Radar Water Level

Use DEVDATATYPE# 9007 for supported Siemens radar profiles when DataGuard must calculate water level from the raw measured distance. The LR110/LR120 driver source used by 9007 is the measured distance value, not the direct primary-value output.

For 9007, DEVSLOT# selects the driver source slot and controls the reported SLE value. The configured reference/datum pair does not use the driver slot number. It follows active 9007 water-level source order: the first active source uses OWAWLREF1/OWAWLDKLAT1, and the next active source uses OWAWLREF2/OWAWLDKLAT2. See OceanWatcher DataGuard setup for the worked reference example.

Use DEVDATATYPE# 1201 only when the supported CS/LR110 primary value should be sent directly as DTY 1201 without the 9007 package.

Supported Thies Single Values

For the Thies Hydro Termo Baro driver profile, these single-value selectors can be used instead of the 8000 package.

Timestamp and Stale Values

Driver DataGuard values use the current DataGuard message clock, the same timing path as analog and 1-Wire DataGuard values.

If the driver does not have a fresh valid value, DataGuard skips the measurement package. Emiko will not receive a new replacement value from that driver row until a fresh value is available.

Worked Example: EM Voltage Package

This example shows one enabled energy-meter driver profile that should send the three voltage values as one DataGuard package.

Worked Example: Thies Weather Package

This example shows one enabled Thies Hydro Termo Baro profile that should send temperature, pressure, and humidity as one DataGuard package.

Worked Example: LR110 Water-Level Package

This example shows one enabled LR110 driver profile used as a water-level source.
