Troubleshooting

Help for operating status or troubleshooting when a fault occurs.

Lamps

Each electrical outlet has a lamplampWhen a fault occurs, the lamp flashes a number of times followed by a longer pause. The number of flashes indicates the fault code. For example, one flash means that protective equipment has tripped. that shows operating status or fault status.

Operating Status

Indicator light Description
Off The outlet is off or set to pausepauseIf the outlet is set to pause, switch the breaker off and on again before the outlet can be used.
On The outlet is on.
Slow flashing (0.5 / 0.5 second) Plug is inserted, breaker is on, and the outlet is ready to be switched on.
Fast flashing (0.1 / 0.1 second) Waiting for an SMSSMS is a text message that can be sent or received with a mobile phone. reply with the order number, if the function is enabled for the user.
Short flash when attempting to switch on the outlet Plug is inserted, breaker is on, and the outlet is set to pausepauseIf the outlet is set to pause, switch the breaker off and on again before the outlet can be used.

Fault Status

LampA physical lamp unit that can contain one or more light sources. Fault cause Remedy

Off

The supply voltage is disconnected.

Fault causes:

  • Fuse has blown.
  • Supply voltage disconnected.

or

The switch is on and the electrical outlet is paused.

Fault causes:

  • The outlet was not switched on by the user within the configured period.
  • Electrical consumption was not registered within the configured period.
  1. Check that any section switch in the cabinet is switched on.
  2. Check that any protective equipment in the cabinet is switched on.
  3. Check that 400V can be measured between the three phases in the cabinet incoming field.
  4. Check that 230V can be measured between each phase and neutral in the cabinet incoming field.
  5. Check that 24VDC can be measured on the VikMoteController with built-in GSM and data logger. unit in the cabinet.

or

  1. Switch off the outlet switch.
  2. Check that protective equipment (RCD, circuit breaker, or combination breaker) is switched on.
  3. Switch on the outlet switch.
  4. Start the outlet with normal local access, for example by calling or using aKeyaKey is a key fob reader for RFID cards, tags, and similar access media.. If the same outlet is deliberately selected in Emiko/App/Web, the equipment can try again while the plug is still inserted, provided normal electrical safety checks pass.
  5. If the outlet remains paused for local access, remove and reinsert the plug. No plug means no power.
  6. The outlet switches on.

1 flash followed by pause

Protective equipment in the cabinet for the outlet has tripped. Protective equipment must be switched on before the outlet can be used.

Fault causes:

  • Tripped because of a fault in the connected plug or cable.
  • Tripped because of excessive power consumption.
  • Tripped because of excessive leakage current.
  • Tripped because of missing earth connection or bonding.
  1. Switch off the outlet switch.
  2. Check that protective equipment (RCD, circuit breaker, or combination breaker) is switched on.
  3. Check that the auxiliary contact on the protective equipment gives a signal when it is switched on.
  4. Check that the signal from the auxiliary contact is registered on the VikMoteController with built-in GSM and data logger. unit or on one of the expansion modules.
  5. Insert a plug into the outlet.
  6. Switch on the outlet switch.
  7. Switch on the outlet, for example by calling or using aKeyaKey is a key fob reader for RFID cards, tags, and similar access media..
  8. The outlet switches on.
  9. Wait 120 seconds and switch off the outlet.
  10. The outlet has been tested and works correctly.

2 flashes followed by pause

The contactor in the cabinet has been manually forced on, for example with a screwdriver. Note that energy consumption is not registered.

Fault cause:

  • A screwdriver was used to force the contactor on.
  • Vandalism or similar.

Remedy:

  • Perform a visual inspection on site.
  1. Switch off the outlet switch for 5 seconds.
  2. Remove any screwdriver from the contactor.
  3. Check that no components are damaged.
  4. Insert a plug into the outlet.
  5. Switch on the outlet switch.
  6. Switch on the outlet, for example by calling or using aKeyaKey is a key fob reader for RFID cards, tags, and similar access media..
  7. The outlet switches on.
  8. Insert a plug and create energy consumption, for example by connecting a heater fan.
  9. Wait until consumption is registered on the energy-meter display.
  10. Wait 120 seconds and switch off the outlet.
  11. The outlet has been tested and works correctly.

3 flashes followed by pause

No feedback from the contactor that switches power to the outlet.

Fault causes:

  • Defective contactor or auxiliary contact.
  • Loose connection from auxiliary contact to VikMoteController with built-in GSM and data logger./expansion module.

Observation:

  • When switching on the outlet is attempted, the contactor pulls in briefly.

Remedy:

  • Check the status signal from the contactor.
  1. Switch off the outlet switch for 5 seconds.
  2. Insert a plug into the outlet.
  3. Switch on the outlet switch.
  4. Check that the contactor switches on, for example by calling or using aKeyaKey is a key fob reader for RFID cards, tags, and similar access media..
  5. Check that the auxiliary contact on the contactor gives a signal when the contactor switches on.
  6. Check that the signal from the auxiliary contact is registered on the VikMoteController with built-in GSM and data logger. unit or on one of the expansion modules.
  7. Switch off the outlet switch for 5 seconds.
  8. Switch on the outlet switch.
  9. Switch on the outlet, for example by calling or using aKeyaKey is a key fob reader for RFID cards, tags, and similar access media..
  10. The outlet switches on.
  11. Wait 120 seconds and switch off the outlet.
  12. The outlet has been tested and works correctly.

4 flashes followed by pause

Fault causes:

  • Defective energy meter.
  • Loose connection on serial ModbusModbus is a serial communication protocol used with devices such as water meters and energy meters. communication between VikMoteController with built-in GSM and data logger. and energy meter.

Remedy:

  • Replace the energy meter.
  1. Check that the energy meter is switched on and that the display is lit.
  2. Check the communication cable for loose connections.
  3. Check that termination is correct on the communication cable.
