WeatherStation LX9 eco is the current standard installation path for a WeatherStation based on the VikMote LX9 eco controller and DataGuard reporting. This installation page gives the field wiring flow; the IO list gives the terminal, jumper, and interface reference.
Installation choices
A WeatherStation installation is built from the ordered sensor set. Start with controller supply and communication, then add only the instruments used on the site.
WeatherStation with RS485/driver weather sensor.
WeatherStation with analog transmitters.
WeatherStation with digital input or counter instruments such as rain gauges.
WeatherStation with 1-Wire temperature measurement.
Basic installation
The basic installation has these main cable groups:
Supply cable to the VikMote LX9 eco controller.
Antenna and mobile communication path for Emiko connectivity.
Sensor cables for RS485, analog, digital/counter, or 1-Wire instruments.
Installation sequence
Confirm the delivered sensor list and the required connection path for each instrument.
Mount the controller and field instruments according to the installation specification.
Connect the supply cable to the VikMote LX9 eco controller.
Wire each sensor to the documented interface in the IO list.
Configure the source value: driver profile, analog input, digital/counter input, or 1-Wire channel.
Configure DataGuard reporting for each value that must be shown or logged in Emiko.
Verify live values before handover.
Supply cable
The VikMote LX9 eco controller can be supplied with 100-260 VAC, 8-36 VDC, or both supply types at the same time.
For VAC supply, connect neutral to N, phase to P, and protective earth to the Pm terminal.
For VDC supply, connect plus to DCIN and minus to XGND.
Use the LX9 eco IO list and the physical terminal labels for terminal layout. Follow applicable electrical safety rules and the delivered installation specification.
RS485 weather instruments
Use RS485 for supported driver instruments such as Thies Clima, GILL MaxiMet, OTT CBS, and Siemens SITRANS profiles. Configure the driver profile first, then configure DataGuard reporting for the same profile index.
Use Device Model Communication Setup for DEVMODEL#, profile, address, slot, and enable settings.
Use WeatherStation DataGuard setup when the Thies Hydro Termo Baro package must report temperature, pressure, and humidity to Emiko.
Analog instruments
Use analog inputs for validated 4-20 mA or 0-10 V transmitters. Configure the physical input and scaling first, then configure DataGuard via Analog Inputs when the value must be logged or shown in Emiko.
Use digital inputs or counters for pulse-based instruments such as rain gauges only when the setup path has been released for the delivered installation.
Use 1-Wire for simple temperature measurement where the installation needs an additional local temperature value, for example soil or field temperature.
