Program 1 basic wiring: one or two pressure pumps

Program 1 controls one or two pressure pumps without a submersible pump. Required for basic operation: start and stop relay outputs and operating-status feedback for each installed pressure pump.

Relay outputs

The relay outputs send pulses to the pump start and stop circuits. The output is not held active while the pump runs; pump running must be maintained by the pump control circuit, contactor, or holding circuit. Pulse time is configured with FVADOUTT#.

Relay outputs are normally-open contact sets. Maximum relay load is 5 A @ 250 VAC / 30 VDC. There are no internal connections to the relay outputs; wire the switched source through the listed terminal pair.

Output Function Terminals Condition
Output 1 Start pressure pump 1 R1A-R1B Required
Output 2 Start pressure pump 2 R2A-R2B If pressure pump 2 is installed
Output 3 Stop pressure pump 1 R3A-R3B Required
Output 4 Stop pressure pump 2 R4A-R4B If pressure pump 2 is installed

Stop outputs can be changed to NC behavior with DWCONTACT# when the installation requires it.

Required operating-status feedback

FlexVander expects a feedback signal from each pump that has been started. If feedback is not detected after start, FlexVander stops the pump because it would otherwise run unmonitored. During operation, the same feedback input is used to detect that the pump has stopped.

With the Viking default JPDI1-JPDI4 = Position S, connect each pump-running contact across the listed terminals. The signal must be active when the pump is running.

Input Pump Terminals Signal Condition
Input 2 Pressure pump 1 DI2-GND S0/NPNNPN is a negative signal (minus).; JPDI2 = S. Required
Input 3 Pressure pump 2 DI3-GND S0/NPNNPN is a negative signal (minus).; JPDI3 = S. If pressure pump 2 is installed

Program 2 basic wiring: submersible pump and one or two pressure pumps

Program 2 controls one submersible pump and one or two pressure pumps. Required for basic operation: start and stop relay outputs and operating-status feedback for each installed pump.

Output 1 Start submersible pump R1A-R1B Required
Output 2 Start pressure pump 1 R2A-R2B Required
Output 3 Start pressure pump 2 R3A-R3B If pressure pump 2 is installed
Output 4 Stop all pumps R4A-R4B Required

Stop outputs can be changed to NC behavior with DWCONTACT# when the installation requires it.

Required operating-status feedback

FlexVander expects a feedback signal from each pump that has been started. If feedback is not detected after start, FlexVander stops the pump because it would otherwise run unmonitored. During operation, the same feedback input is used to detect that the pump has stopped.

With the Viking default JPDI1-JPDI4 = Position S, connect each pump-running contact across the listed terminals. The signal must be active when the pump is running.

Input Pump Terminals Signal Condition
Input 1 Submersible pump DI1-GND S0/NPNNPN is a negative signal (minus).; JPDI1 = S. Required
Input 2 Pressure pump 1 DI2-GND S0/NPNNPN is a negative signal (minus).; JPDI2 = S. Required
Input 3 Pressure pump 2 DI3-GND S0/NPNNPN is a negative signal (minus).; JPDI3 = S. If pressure pump 2 is installed

Stop-circuit note: NC output mode depends on the FlexVander controller being powered and functioning. For stop circuits that must not depend directly on the controller, use a normally-open FlexVander output to drive an interposing relay and use the relay's NC contact in the stop circuit.

Mini Weather Station sensors

DataGuard field sensors

Use DataGuard when Mini Weather Station values or other field values must be logged or shown in Emiko. FlexVander documents the physical input; DataGuard documents how the selected value is reported and logged.

See Climate and Level Sensors for serial instruments, Analog Inputs, Digital Inputs and Counters, and 1-Wire Temperature.

Additional analog inputs

The LX9 pro controller provides AI3 and AI4 for additional analog field sensors when the delivered setup assigns those inputs. The connected instrument nameplate or datasheet decides whether the input is configured for 4-20 mA or 0-10 V.

Input Terminals Signal Condition
Input 3 AI3-AGND 4-20 mA with JPAI3 installed; 0-10 V with JPAI3 not installed. Only when assigned by the delivered setup.
Input 4 AI4-AGND 4-20 mA with JPAI4 installed; 0-10 V with JPAI4 not installed. Only when assigned by the delivered setup.

Weather and field instruments

Use Instrument Families to select a supported serial instrument. Use the applicable Analog Inputs, Digital Inputs and Counters, or 1-Wire Temperature page for the other connection paths. If the instrument is not listed, use the cabinet documentation for the installed interface.

1-Wire options

Use 1-Wire for temperature measurement where the installation needs simple field temperature values, for example soil temperature. Configure the 1-Wire channel first, then add DataGuard reporting if the value must be logged or shown in Emiko.
