FlexVander LX9 pro installation
FlexVander LX9 pro is a current model for installations that need more analog inputs, analog outputs, Ethernet, or additional communication hardware. This installation page gives the wiring flow; the IO list gives the terminal, jumper, and option reference.
Installation choices
A standard FlexVander installation can be built with or without pressure control. Start with the pump-control wiring, then add only the options used in the actual installation.
Choose LX9 pro instead of LX9 eco when the delivered solution needs more I/O capacity, for example additional analog field instruments, analog outputs, Ethernet, or several Mini Weather Station instruments. LX9 eco is normally sufficient for simpler pump-control installations with fewer field interfaces.
- Pump control only.
- Pump control with pressure control.
- Pump control with energy consumption registration.
- Pump control with a Mini Weather Station.
- Pump control with assisted setup for additional LX9 pro interfaces.
Basic installation
The basic installation has two main cable groups:
- Supply cable to the VikMote LX9 pro controller.
- Signal cable between the controller and the pump control circuit.
Installation sequence
- Select the FlexVander pump program used on the installation.
- Connect the supply cable to the VikMote LX9 pro controller.
- Wire the relay outputs for the pump start and stop circuits.
- Wire the operating-status feedback for each installed pump.
- Add pressure control, energy metering, weather sensors, or other field interfaces only when those options are part of the ordered solution.
- Configure the required FlexVander settings before handover.
- Complete the handover checks before the installation is put into normal operation.
Supply cable
The VikMote LX9 pro controller can be supplied with 100-260 VAC, 8-36 VDC, or both supply types at the same time.
- For VAC supply, connect neutral to
N, phase to P, and protective earth to the Pm terminal.
- For VDC supply, connect plus to
DCIN and minus to XGND.
- Use the LX9 pro IO list and the physical terminal labels for terminal layout. Follow applicable electrical safety rules and the delivered installation specification.
Signal cable
The signal cable is fitted for the selected FlexVander pump program.
- Program 1 controls up to two pressure pumps without a submersible pump.
- Program 2 controls one submersible pump and up to two pressure pumps.
- Relay output pulse time is set with
FVADOUTT#, and stop contact behaviour can be changed with DWCONTACT# where the installation requires it.
- The operating-status signal may come from a pump control relay, contactor, soft starter, frequency converter, or another compatible pump-running signal. The signal must provide a compatible contact or input signal for the documented feedback terminals and must be active when the pump is running.
- Local push buttons are optional physical inputs for local pump operation at the installation. Select the digital input with the
FVALOCIN setting.
Pressure control
Pressure control is an optional part of a standard FlexVander installation. If pressure control is used, connect the pressure transmitter to the documented analog input and configure the pressure settings before handover.

AI1 is shown as Pressure line 1 in Emiko. AI2 is shown as Pressure line 2 when separate pressure transmitters are used.
- Verify the measuring range against the pressure transmitter nameplate.
Energy Consumption Registration
Install energy meters only when energy consumption registration is part of the ordered solution. See RS485 energy metering in the IO list for the terminals and node addresses. Energy Meters in Device Model lists additional supported meters for other Emiko use cases.
- Energy meters can be connected on RS485. Use node
100 for the submersible pump, node 101 for pressure pump 1, and node 102 for pressure pump 2 when those meters are installed.
- Use
EMIKO - EMI530 or EMIKO - EMI540 as the supported energy meter types.
Mini Weather Station
Use available inputs for weather and field sensors only when the Mini Weather Station is part of the ordered solution. See Climate and Level Sensors for serial instrument selection and Mini Weather Station sensors in the IO list for the available interfaces.
- Analog input and 1-Wire field sensors are the current self-service paths when logging or Emiko presentation is required.
- The LX9 pro controller provides
AI3 and AI4 for additional analog field sensors when the delivered setup assigns those inputs.
- Serial or RS485 climate sensors must use a supported DataGuard driver profile when one is documented for the installed sensor. DI pulse sensors, analog outputs, Ethernet use, serial/RS485 cases without a documented driver profile, and other special interfaces must follow the cabinet documentation for the installed driver.
Before handover
- Confirm that the controller supply is connected to the intended VAC, VDC, or combined supply terminals.
- Confirm that each relay output gives the expected pump start or stop pulse and that the pump control circuit maintains running state outside the pulse.
- Confirm that operating-status feedback is active when each installed pump is running and inactive when the pump is stopped.
- When pressure control is used, confirm that the pressure value is visible in Emiko and that the transmitter range and pressure settings match the installed transmitter.
- When energy metering is used, confirm the RS485 wiring and node addresses:
100 for the submersible pump, 101 for pressure pump 1, and 102 for pressure pump 2.
- When extra LX9 pro interfaces are used, confirm that the delivered assisted setup has been completed before handover.
