Recommended commissioning order

1. Load FlexVander factory settings.
2. Select the required pump program.
3. Configure messages, timers, and any optional local operation inputs.
4. Verify operation in Emiko before handing the installation over for daily use.

Basic settings

Basic settings define the pump layout and controller behaviour used by Emiko, local/offline operation methods, and the installed input/output wiring.

Factory settings

Use this only before first commissioning or after support has approved a return to the FlexVander baseline. Record any site values that must be entered again.

• Must: run this before the equipment is put into operation.
• FVAFAC restores FlexVander product setup and shared controller settings.
• Use the pressure Factory settings commands when a pressure circuit must be restored.

ProgramProgram type installed in the device.

Set which program, and therefore how many pumps, the equipment must control.

Operating messages

Select which normal operating messages the system must send to the person who started the pump and to the configured operating-message recipients.

• Use FVAOPMSG 31 for all messages (1+2+4+8+16).
• The default value is FVAOPMSG 22 (2+4+16).
• Direct command replies are sent only to the person who sent the command and do not follow FVAOPMSG.
• Alarm and system messages do not follow FVAOPMSG.

Name

Set the unit name, which is used for example together with messagesMessage sent by the equipment to one or more configured users, for example an SMS or email alarm.. The irrigation system name is typically used.

Timer

Timer settings.

Operating signal monitoring

Set the time from when the pressure pump starts until the expected operating signal must be detected.

• If the time expires, FlexVander sends a fault message because the expected start or run signal was not detected in time.
• If star-delta starting is used, the time must be extended and the operating signal monitoring delayed until switching to delta plus an extra 5 seconds.

Pulse time

FVADOUTT# sets how long the start output may stay active after FlexVander has requested a pump start. The required value depends on how the pump control circuit is built.

• Controller-held start: when the start output must remain active until the pressure switch or running feedback input confirms that the system has reached the required pressure, set FVADOUTT# long enough for the pressure build-up. If the output is released before the feedback closes, the pump control circuit can stop again.
• External start timer: when the pump control panel already has its own start timer, FlexVander normally only needs a short start pulse, typically the default 2 seconds. The external control then keeps the pump running while pressure builds.
• After the FlexVander start output is released, the running feedback input must remain active. If the feedback drops again, FlexVander can treat it as a failed or unstable start after the start signal was reset. The same feedback drop can also happen during normal operation if the irrigation machine reaches the end and the pump stops naturally.
• If DRT# input debounce is used, FVADOUTT# must be longer than the relevant DRT# so the feedback can become valid before the output is released.

Fill time

FVASUBFILL is used only when Program 2 is active with a submersible pump. Set the time from submersible pump start until the pressure pump may start.

• Use this so the submersible pump can fill the system and build water supply before the pressure pump starts.

Digital inputs/outputs

Use these settings only for the installed input/output functions that are part of the FlexVander installation.

Operation input

Set which digital input must be used if an operating push button is installed. The button is used for manual operation of the pumps.

• Use only inputs that are available on the installed model and intended for local push-button operation.
• For current models, see the FlexVander LX4 pro IO list, LX9 eco IO list, or LX9 pro IO list. For other installed models, use the relevant IO list for that controller.

Output type

Set whether the output must be NONormally open. or NCNormally closed..

• Use DWCONTACT# for output contact type setup.
• If DWCONTACT# is changed to NCNormally closed., verify the same output in DWTYPE# under Advanced settings. FlexVander normally requires DWTYPE# 1.
• If the pump stop circuit is wired directly through the controller output, use NCNormally closed.. The stop circuit then depends on the controller output state.
• Recommended stop-circuit method: use a separate interface relay. Let the controller output be NONormally open. and energize the interface relay when the stop circuit must be broken. Use the interface relay's NCNormally closed. contact in the pump stop circuit.
• With an interface relay, the pump stop circuit can remain closed through the relay contact even if the controller is removed or unavailable, provided the installed relay circuit is designed for that behaviour.

Advanced settings

These settings normally stay at the FlexVander defaults. Change them only when the installation or support case requires it.

Digital output mode

DWTYPE# controls how each digital output behaves. Leave the FlexVander default at 1 unless the installation or support case explicitly requires another value. A wrong value can break the FlexVander output function, especially when the matching DWCONTACT# output contact type has been changed to NCNormally closed..

Digital input counter mode

TIN1..3 support FlexVander digital input hour/counter handling. Leave them at 2 when input hour counters are required.

When TIN# is changed to 1 for high-speed counter use, runtime applies the binding. Keep TIN# 2 where only input timer behavior is needed.

Voice control

VOICE controls local voice-call operation. The FlexVander default is 2 and should normally be left unchanged.

Input debounce time

DRT1..4 are input debounce or confirmation timers. When a value is set, the input signal must remain active for the configured time before FlexVander accepts the input state. The default is 0.

Change this only if unstable signals, short false pulses, or contact bounce create problems.

Advanced settings for supported installed models

GSMGSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is a widely used standard for mobile communication and data. antenna

GSMANT is used only on installed models with selectable internal or external antenna hardware. Compatibility: VikMote AX9 turbo and VikMote AX9 encore only.

Do not use this setting unless the installed hardware explicitly supports the selectable antenna function.
