Maintenance guidance for OceanWatcher.

Every 6 Months

This applies only to the water-current meter. To ensure valid water-current measurements, the following maintenance is recommended:

1. Clean the water-current meter thoroughly to remove any fouling.

The maintenance need depends on how quickly fouling occurs.

Every Year

To ensure valid measurements, perform the following maintenance at least once per year:

1. Clean the part of OceanWatcher that is below water, and remove any fouling.
   1. Clean both inside and outside.
   2. If a water-current meter is installed, clean it thoroughly to remove any fouling.
2. Check the mounting brackets and retighten all assemblies.
3. Open the cover and check the components inside the control housing.
4. If the level gauge is installed, check the water level:
   1. Measure the distance between the zero point and the current water surface. In the image, the water level is -700 mm.
   2. Check that the system, for example Emiko, shows and logs the same water level as the control measurement.
5. If the temperature sensor is installed, check the water temperature:
   1. Measure the water temperature at the surface.
   2. Check that the system, for example Emiko, shows and logs the same water temperature as the control measurement.
6. If the water-current meter is installed, check water currents and measurements:
   1. Check that the system, for example Emiko, shows and logs the same water currents.

Every 3 Years

Every 3 years, a new survey should be made.

1. The DVR90Danish Vertical Reference 1990. zero point is checked by a surveyor to make sure the zero point is correct.
2. If deviations are found, recalculate the offset and adjust the parameter in the system.
