1-Wire is primarily used as an independent temperature monitoring and alarm system for installations with one or more measuring points.
Air temperature in livestock buildings, technical rooms, storage areas, and cold rooms
Water temperature in basins, tanks, wells, and pipe systems
Several measuring points in the same installation, for example one sensor in each room, building, or stable
Local low and high alarms, alarm texts, and optional onward logging for each configured channel
Secondary use: shared feature in products
The same 1-Wire feature can also be used inside products such as WaterStation, OceanWatcher, WeatherStation, and similar solutions when those products need temperature measurement.
Use 1-Wire for supported temperature sensors on the built-in 1-Wire bus.
Capacity and channel mapping
The current implementation supports up to 10 1-Wire channels.
Each detected sensor is assigned a logical channel number from 1 to 10.
The logical channel number is the number shown for the sensor in OTLIST.
Alarm limits, alarm texts, and optional DataGuard settings use that same logical channel number.
If the sensor list is rebuilt, verify the channel mapping again before using alarms or exported logging.
Alarm delivery and export
1-Wire can be used on its own for local alarm handling, or extended with recipient delivery and DataGuard export when the installation needs it.
Use recipient delivery when alarms should be sent to configured SMS, email, or voice recipients.
Use DataGuard only when 1-Wire values must be logged over time or exported onward to Emiko.
Configuration flow
Complete the product-specific wiring and installation.
Configure activation, commands, alarms, and any optional 1-Wire export or logging parameters on Setup and alarms.
Decide whether alarms should only act locally or also be delivered to recipients.
If logging or export is needed, configure DataGuard via 1-Wire for the relevant channels.
