Shared Technologies

Shared Technologies contains the common runtime functions and field interfaces used across Vika products. Start here when you need to identify how a sensor, meter, reader, signalling instrument, or other field instrument connects to the controller.

Select the connection path first. Then continue to the page that owns its configuration, limits, and verification steps.

Choose The Connection Path

The physical signal and communication method determine where the instrument is configured.

Analog Input

Use an analog input for supported current or voltage signals such as 4-20 mA and 0-10 V. Configure the input under Analog Inputs. See Analog Transmitter Wiring for the field connection.

Digital Input Or Counter

Use a digital input or counter for contact states, pulses, and count-based measurements. Continue to Digital Inputs and Counters.

Driver Communication

Use Driver Communication for supported serial, Modbus, M-Bus, wireless M-Bus, TCP/IP, reader, and other registered instrument protocols. Continue to Driver Communication.

1-Wire Temperature

Use the 1-Wire interface for supported 1-Wire temperature sensors. Continue to 1-Wire Temperature.

I/O Expansion

Use I/O Expansion when the installation requires supported external input or output modules. Continue to I/O Expansion.

Shared Runtime And Field Interfaces

Shared Runtime owns the common controller behavior, Core I/O, settings, identity, time, communication, power management, logging, and diagnostics used across products.

Field Interfaces owns the instrument-specific connection layers, including Driver Communication, 1-Wire Temperature, analog transmitter wiring, and I/O Expansion.
