Shared Runtime Data Type Reference

Use this page to look up the common data type (DTY) values used when values are reported to Emiko.

Selector terms: A selector is a setup value such as 8000, 9000, or 9004. A child DTY is the actual DTY value sent in the DataGuard payload. Selector values are not emitted as measurement DTY values.

Wind direction state/QC codes

DD_STATE_QC is emitted as DTY 1117. The reported value is additive, so one value can contain more than one state or quality marker.

Code value Meaning Use
0 No state/QC flag The wind direction value has no reported state or quality flag.
1 Variable direction state Used when the calculated wind direction spread is high enough to mark the direction as variable.
2 Insufficient data / low coverage state Used while there is not enough sample coverage for the selected 2-minute or 10-minute wind direction value.
4 Configuration or setup error state Used when the selected wind direction setup cannot produce the requested calculated value.
256 Analog input below expected range The analog input value is below the expected electrical range for the selected transmitter type.
512 Analog input above expected range The analog input value is above the expected electrical range for the selected transmitter type.
1024 Low coverage marker Added together with the insufficient-data state.
2048 Variable direction marker Added together with the variable-direction state.
4096 Too many wind direction history channels configured Added when more history-based wind direction channels are configured than the controller can track at the same time.
8192 Configuration error marker Added when the analog wind direction channel or transmitter type is not valid for this calculation.

Example: 1026 means 1024 + 2, so the value is a low-coverage state before enough samples are available for the selected wind direction calculation.

DataGuard Package Selectors

Package selectors are used only where the specific parameter supports them. A package selector is a setup value that sends one predefined set of child DTY values. The selector itself is not sent as the measurement DTY.

Selector Package Child values sent
8000 Thies Hydro Termo Baro package Temperature as DTY 1101, pressure as DTY 1102, and humidity as DTY 1103.
8001 EM voltage package Voltage values as DTY 1301.
8003 Counter and timer package Pulse counter as DTY 1004 and operating hours as DTY 1001 for the same channel/slot.

DataGuard Calculation Selectors

Calculation selectors are used only where the specific parameter supports them. A calculation selector is a setup value that sends calculated or manipulated child DTY values. The selector itself is not sent as the measurement DTY.

DataGuard is the master reference for these selectors. Product pages should show the product-specific setup path and then link back to this table for the shared selector rules.

Important: A selector tells DataGuard which calculation to run. It is not proof of the exact installed sensor. For analog wind direction, confirm the physical sensor from the installation hardware or delivery documentation. For counter-based WeatherStation selectors, confirm that the installed sensor matches the documented VRCPROFILE#.
