FlexVander troubleshooting

Use this guide when the equipment cannot be operated as expected, when optional SMS or voice workflows do not respond, or when local signals need to be checked before escalation.

No reply from SMSSMS is a text message that can be sent or received with a mobile phone. or voice call?

A direct command reply or voice response is sent only to the phone number that sent an accepted local command and only when the command can return a user-facing result.

If the phone user, local access, command, or communication cannot be confirmed, the equipment may stay silent instead of sending an access reply.

Working with a supported installed model?

Use the IO list that matches the installed FlexVander hardware.

Start or run signal is missing?

FlexVander reports a signal fault when the controller activates the expected output but the required input signal is not detected in time, or when a run signal remains active after a stop.

The message identifies the output and input involved. It does not by itself prove a contactor, relay, wiring, or installation cause.

Start and pressure messages

Start blocked by high pressure: FlexVander did not start the pump because the measured pressure was at or above the high-pressure limit. Check the live pressure, transmitter scaling, approved limit, valves, and field conditions before trying again.

Operating pressure was not reached: The pressure stayed below the configured limit for the allowed start delay. Check the pump sequence, water supply, valves, pressure transmitter, scaling, pressure limit, and FVAPRESSDELAY#.

Input and output feedback messages

Start signal missing: FlexVander activated the start output, but the expected digital input was not detected before the timeout. Use the output and input numbers shown in the message to check the contactor, interface relay, wiring, input type, and feedback signal.

Expected run signal not detected: The expected digital input did not become active while the related output was active for the configured time. Check the output and input numbers in the message, then check the control circuit, input type, feedback wiring, and timing.

Program 2 LP run signal missing: A pressure-pump run input is active, but the low-pressure or submersible-pump run input on DI1 is not active. Check the low-pressure pump, its start sequence, DI1 input type, and the run-feedback wiring.

Stop fault: FlexVander activated the stop output, but the run input stayed active. Put the installation in a safe state. Use the output and input numbers in the message to check the stop circuit, contactor, interface relay, wiring, and feedback input.

If the expected signal is not received, check:

  1. That the digital inputs use the required signal type for the installed controller and wiring.
    1. See the IO list for how jumpers must be configured for FlexVander LX4 pro or FlexVander DX4i pro.
    2. See the IO list for how jumpers must be configured for FlexVander NX-910 or FlexVander AX9 encore.

If the next pump does not start immediately after an Emiko, SMS, voice, TX, or local start action, allow for the normal start sequence before treating it as a fault.

FlexVander starts one new pump at a time and waits 10 seconds before the next new physical pump start.

In Program 2, confirm that the submersible pump has started and that the configured FVASUBFILL fill delay allows the pressure pump to start. Use FVAIO for current input/output signals and FVAPMP for pump status.

If the command receives no direct reply, test SMS or voice communication and check that local/offline access is configured for the phone user.

Reset to default settings?

The equipment can be reset, which restores the default delivery settings.

Resets the equipment to default values and deletes all stored data and parameters.

  • The reset can take up to 10 minutes to complete.
  • All stored data is deleted and all parameters are reset to default values.
  • Licenses and passwords are not changed.
  • If the equipment is connected to Emiko, the reset is followed by a full synchronization with the backend.
  • The equipment may restart several times.

Controller Indicators

Indicator positions and meanings depend on the installed controller. Identify the model, then use its IO list or controlled service document. Do not apply an indicator description from another controller.
