FlexVander prerequisites
Use this page before the installation is put into service. FlexVander must be ready as both local pump control and an Emiko operating point for the Partner.
- Confirm that the Partner can access the correct Emiko Site in Emiko Console.
- Confirm that the FlexVander equipment is visible to the Partner in Emiko Console.
- Confirm which Customers or employees the Partner will approve in Emiko App for daily pump operation.
- Confirm whether SMS, voice call, or local push button operation must be available for the installation.
Confirm installed controller and service path
Before commissioning or upgrade planning, confirm the physical FlexVander controller and use the shared status table to decide the correct service path.
FlexVander unit support and upgrade path
Identify the installed controller before promising Emiko, Legacy VMS, or continued support. FlexVander upgrade assessment depends on the controller platform and the installed product software.

Start from the normal access case
In the normal self-service flow, the Partner already has Emiko access and can see the FlexVander equipment. Use this page to verify that the installation is ready for daily operation.
- Verify that the Partner can use Emiko Login to access the correct Emiko Site in Emiko Console.
- Verify that the Partner has administrator access for the FlexVander Emiko Site.
- Decide which employees or field users need app access for daily pump operation.
- Decide whether the installation also needs pressure control, energy meters, WeatherStation values, or a combination of these options.
If access or equipment is missing
If the Partner cannot log in to Emiko or cannot see the FlexVander equipment, the Emiko onboarding or assignment is not complete.
- Vikingegaarden can assign the equipment directly to the Partner's Emiko Site.
- A Reseller can receive assignable Emiko Equipment and forward it into the correct Partner's Emiko Site.
- The Partner verifies access after assignment and keeps control of Customers, employees, and Reseller relationships.
- The Partner can remove Reseller access or invite another Reseller when the commercial or service relationship changes.
Use Onboarding And Assignment, Access, Permissions And Control, and Emiko Login And Identity when the Emiko side must be prepared.
SIM card and mobile connection
FlexVander depends on a working mobile connection for remote services, alarm delivery, and Emiko connectivity.
The equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can be delivered with or without a SIM card.
- If the equipment is delivered with an activated SIM card, the system is ready for use.
- If the equipment is delivered with an inactive SIM card, the SIM card can be activated online and will work immediately after activation. Click here to start SIM card activation.
General requirements for the SIM card:
- Must have data so the equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can access the Internet
- Must be able to send and receive SMS messages
- Must have voice so the equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can place calls and receive voice calls
Important settings:
- Voicemail must always be disabled
-
If voicemail is enabled, it can be disabled, for example by:
- Insert the SIM card into a mobile phone and disable voicemail using the phone
-
Alternatively, contact the SIM card provider and ask them to disable voicemail
Note:
- There is no requirement for a static IP address on the SIM card
Plan optional pressure control
If pressure control is part of the solution, plan the pressure transmitter, measuring range, and pressure-circuit mapping before commissioning.
- Pressure control requires a connected pressure transmitter.
- One transmitter can be shared when pumps are connected to the same pipeline system.
- Separate transmitters can be used when pressure pumps belong to separate pipeline systems.
Continue to Pressure Control Settings for the FlexVander-specific setup.
Plan optional energy meters
If energy measurement is part of the solution, plan the meter slots according to the pump layout.
- Energy meter slot 1 belongs to the submersible pump.
- Energy meter slot 2 belongs to pressure pump 1.
- Energy meter slot 3 belongs to pressure pump 2.
- The meter model and communication path must be supported by the shared driver layer.
- RS485 communication for optional energy meters is documented on the relevant FlexVander IO pages.
Continue to Driver Communication, Devices, and Driver Settings for the shared communication setup.
Plan optional WeatherStation values
FlexVander can also be used as a field point for weather-related measurements. When relevant sensors are connected, selected values can be sent through DataGuard and shown in Emiko under WeatherStation.
- Field sensors can be connected through analogue inputs or 1-Wire when the hardware supports the required input type.
- Examples include temperature, humidity, wind, wind direction, and rainfall values used in daily irrigation decisions.
- DataGuard forwards the selected sensor values to Emiko.
- Forecast and Warning modules can build on those values when they are part of the solution.
Use the shared analog input settings, 1-Wire Temperature Monitoring, DataGuard via Analog Inputs, and DataGuard via 1-Wire for the shared setup principles.
Verify before commissioning
- Verify that the correct program and pump layout are selected.
- Verify signal strength and stable mobile connection.
- Verify that the Partner and approved users can see and operate the equipment in Emiko.
- Verify optional pressure, energy, and sensor channels before those values are relied on in daily operation.
Continue to Operation when the installation is ready for daily use.
