FlexVander prerequisites

Use this page before the installation is put into service. FlexVander must be ready as both local pump control and an Emiko operating point for the Partner.

Confirm installed controller and service path

Before commissioning or upgrade planning, confirm the physical FlexVander controller and use the shared status table to decide the correct service path.

FlexVander unit support and upgrade path

Identify the installed controller before promising Emiko, Legacy VMS, or continued support. FlexVander upgrade assessment depends on the controller platform and the installed product software.

Start from the normal access case

In the normal self-service flow, the Partner already has Emiko access and can see the FlexVander equipment. Use this page to verify that the installation is ready for daily operation.

If access or equipment is missing

If the Partner cannot log in to Emiko or cannot see the FlexVander equipment, the Emiko onboarding or assignment is not complete.

Use Onboarding And Assignment, Access, Permissions And Control, and Emiko Login And Identity when the Emiko side must be prepared.

SIM card and mobile connection

FlexVander depends on a working mobile connection for remote services, alarm delivery, and Emiko connectivity.

The equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can be delivered with or without a SIM card.

  1. If the equipment is delivered with an activated SIM card, the system is ready for use.
  2. If the equipment is delivered with an inactive SIM card, the SIM card can be activated online and will work immediately after activation. Click here to start SIM card activation.

General requirements for the SIM card:

  1. Must have data so the equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can access the Internet
  2. Must be able to send and receive SMS messages
  3. Must have voice so the equipmentThe equipment, for example a ServicePedestal or WaterStation. can place calls and receive voice calls

Important settings:

  1. Voicemail must always be disabled
    1. If voicemail is enabled, it can be disabled, for example by:

      1. Insert the SIM card into a mobile phone and disable voicemail using the phone
      2. Alternatively, contact the SIM card provider and ask them to disable voicemail

Note:

  1. There is no requirement for a static IP address on the SIM card

Plan optional pressure control

If pressure control is part of the solution, plan the pressure transmitter, measuring range, and pressure-circuit mapping before commissioning.

Continue to Pressure Control Settings for the FlexVander-specific setup.

Plan optional energy meters

If energy measurement is part of the solution, plan the meter slots according to the pump layout.

Continue to Driver Communication, Devices, and Driver Settings for the shared communication setup.

Plan optional WeatherStation values

FlexVander can also be used as a field point for weather-related measurements. When relevant sensors are connected, selected values can be sent through DataGuard and shown in Emiko under WeatherStation.

Use the shared analog input settings, 1-Wire Temperature Monitoring, DataGuard via Analog Inputs, and DataGuard via 1-Wire for the shared setup principles.

Verify before commissioning

Continue to Operation when the installation is ready for daily use.
